JUST IN: President Bola Tinubu Appoints 11 New Chief Executive Officers

On Friday, 12 January 2024, President Bola Tinubu appointed 11 new Chief Executive Officers to positions under the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy.

Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, revealed this in a statement he signed on Friday, 12 January 2024, under the heading “President Tinubu appoints new leadership in arts, culture and creative economy sector.”

Included in the new appointments are, Chaliya Shagaya, Director-General, of the National Institute of Archeology and Museums Studies; Khaltume Gana, Artistic Director, National Troupe of Nigeria; Otunba Ajiboye, Director-General, of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation, Ali Nuhu — Managing-Director, Nigerian Film Corporation and Ramatu Mohammed, Director-General, National Commission for Museums and Monuments.

Also in the 11 are, Tola Akerele, Director-General of the National Theatre; Shaibu Husseini, Director-General, of National Films and Censors Board; Obi Asika, Director-General, of National Council for Arts and Culture, Aisha Augie, Director-General, of Centre for Black and African Arts and Culture and Ekpolador-Ebi Koinyan, Chief Conservator, National War Museum; Ahmed Sodangi, Director-General, National Gallery of Art.

In order to “make the creative sector more vibrant and robust,” Ngelale claims that the President ordered the appointees to “discharge their duties in accordance with the highest standards of professionalism, diligence, and patriotism.”

The 11 appointees make the third set of appointments made by President Bola Tinubu this week.

The President had, on Thursday, 11 January 2024, named new members of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission and the National Hajj Commission’s Board and Management.
