Olufemi takes Office, Promises to Eradicate Criminals

By Reporter 2

Mr. Abaniwonda Olufemi, the recently appointed Commissioner of Police for Delta State Command, pledged on Wednesday, 7 February 2024, to make lawbreakers uncomfortable in the state.

Olufemi, who made the pledge soon after taking office as Delta State Command’s Commissioner of Police, additionally pledged to implement the current security measures to establish the rule of law and order and ensure the safety of their lives and property at all times.

He promised Deltans, both citizens and visitors, that the Command in his charge would make it difficult for criminals to operate in the State.

Following AIG Wale Abass’s move to Police Force Headquarters Abuja, Olufemi took over as Delta State’s 22nd Commissioner of Police.

“I want to assure you that under my watch as CP, criminals will find the state uncomfortable,” he declared.

“I arrived in the state with the intention of performing the most basic police tasks so that people could go to sleep.”

He entrusted the young people with the responsibility of ensuring that they never engage in criminal conduct and advised the public to continuously collaborate with the police and other Security Services in order to create a crime-free society.

Mr. Olufemi has worked with the Police in many positions. From 1996 to 2005, he was the Commander of the 2 I/C Squadron of the Police Mobile Force in Jos. From 2002 to 2005, he was the Commander of the Squadron at MOPOL 8 Jos.
