Criminals Will not Succeed in Ondo says Aiyedatiwa
By Reporter 2
The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has expressed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the State’s Security Agencies to effectively combat criminal activity.
The Governor added that his administration would continue to provide security agencies with logistics support regularly and would not hold back in its efforts to cleanse the state of crimes and criminalities.
Aiyedatiwa stated this on Tuesday, 13 February 2024 during the presentation of the appointment document and staff of office to Oba Michael Akinfolarin, the Larogbo of Akotogbo, at the Akotogbo community within the Irele Local Government Area of the State.
A community’s ability to grow depends on having enough security, and the Governor, represented by Deputy Governor Chief Olayide Adelami, emphasized this point while promising that his administration would make sure criminals had no access to the State.
“Allow me to inform this assembly that our administration places the safety of the people living in this state as a primary concern, and we will keep working together to purge miscreants and other criminals from our communities in our beloved state,” he stated.
“There is no doubt that the State Government has poured a great deal of money into providing the Amotekun Corps with more tools and personnel.”
“Apart from this, other state-run security services also receive regular logistical support. This administration will not stand by while its citizens are unable to go about their daily lives in a secure setting.”
Aiyedatiwa urged all the State’s Traditional Rulers to use traditional authority and powers constantly with prudence and restraint, emphasizing that the office should be used to strengthen the ties of love and unity among its constituents.
He added that one important resource for the socioeconomic growth of each community is the unity of its citizens, which needs to be exploited.
Aiyedatiwa encouraged all stool contenders to work with the new monarch for the town’s expedited development, even as he congratulated the monarch and the Akotogbo people.
Oba Akinfolarin thanked the Governor and promised to lead his people with the highest justice and reverence for God.
