By Reporter 2
In Taraba State‘s Yorro Local Government Area, 49 abducted victims have been freed from the kidnapper’s hideout in Gongomaliki Mountain.
The Police, Professional Hunters, and Vigilante groups worked together to rescue them as a result of their intelligence-gathering efforts.
“To alleviate the threat of crimes and criminalities, particularly violent crimes like kidnapping, banditry, rubbery, and cattle rustling that have plagued the State,” stated Taraba State Police Commissioner David Iloyonomon.
“The Police Command implemented a strong strategy that allowed us to think creatively and include all of our important stakeholders, including the neighborhood hunters and vigilantes, in our effort to protect the lives and property of law-abiding inhabitants of the State.”
“But this recent success was made possible by our local hunter’s unwavering efforts, who raided the kidnapper’s camp located at the Gong-Gongmaliki Mountain in Ardo-Kola LGA Taraba State.”
“After the local hunters in the Ardo-Kola LGA launched a major attack on the bandit and the kidnappers in the Gongongmaliki Mountains. Many of the alleged kidnappers were neutralized as a consequence of the local hunter’s valiant and intense gunfight, while many more managed to flee with varying degrees of wounded.”
“Despite this, the local hunters were able to free 40 abducted captives from the kidnapper’s lair. For physical examinations, therapy, and counseling, they have been brought to the Police Clinic.”
“The victims, which include Yahaya Fidelis, whose right eye was amputated by the kidnappers, have varying degrees of wounds and illnesses.”
“While Musa Yahaya had two bullet wounds that left him critically ill. For additional care, all patients with significant injuries have been referred to specialized hospitals.”
“Following this, a portion of the anti-kidnapping units tactical team was sent by the Command to gather information about accomplices and apprehend kidnappers who were escaping the Gong-Gong Maliki Mountains.”
“While fleeing the scorching zone, Ten (10) kidnappers were apprehended by the team in the Ardo-Kola LGA’s Mallum and Kasuwan Ladi areas. They retrieved an AK-47 and a Dane gun from them, along with one Jibo Alh. Gagare and nine others.”
In addition, while buying food, a few of the kidnappers were taken into custody. With a relentless and forceful assault on the criminal elements, the Taraba State Police Command will not waver under my leadership in its commitment to addressing the state’s multifaceted level of insecurity and achieving long-lasting peace.
