Two Policemen killed in Edo

Two Police personnel identified as Inspector Abubakar Fakku and Sergeant Elisha John were said to have been killed by an angry mob in Edo State for allegedly killing a commercial motorcycle rider while on escort duty.
This occurred in Ikpeshi, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the State.
It was gathered that the Police operatives were said to be escorting a former member of the Edo State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Agbaje when a vehicle in their convoy hit and killed a motorcycle rider whose identity was yet to be ascertained at the time of going to press.
The Police officers were taken to the Edo State Security Volunteer Network for safety, but some angry youths still invaded the premises and killed two operatives.
They were said to have also attacked the vigilante facility and damaged their property. They also threatened to deal with vigilante members who tried to rescue the Police officers.
However, members of the vigilante group were able to rescue two other Police officers who are at present receiving treatment in Ifejola Hospital Igarra and recovered some rifles belonging to the police operatives.
