After 20 years, 2Baba Parts Ways With Manager Efe Omorogbe

By Reporter 2

Nigerian musician and producer Innocent Idibia, better known by his stage name as 2Baba, and Efe Omorogbe, his manager of more than 20 years, have broken up. The two disclosed that their mutual disengagement is effective immediately.

In a statement on Now Muzik’s Instagram account, CEO Omorogbe expressed gratitude to 2Baba for their long-standing friendship and trust.

“I am thankful for the friendship and trust from 2Baba,” he wrote. Together, we created songs, built brands, and delighted fans. I’m proud of all of it.

Working with 2Baba is “beyond work,” according to the Now Muzik manager. He continued by referring to the performer as “one of the greatest Nigerian musicians of all time.”

“Having been able to walk side by side with him for the past 20 years, witnessing and assisting him in creating magic, is truly an honor.”

He stated, “My team and I look forward to supporting from the sidelines and continuing to advocate for any and everything 2Baba.”

After leaving The Plantashun Boiz in 2004 to set up shop as a music label with Kennis Music, 2Baba signed with the management of Now Muzik. Since then, he has recorded and released eight albums, given performances in more than 100 cities, received more than 60 honors, and amassed more than 400 million streams on all media.

Regarding the mutual disengagement, 2Baba states that Efe and the Now Muzik crew are largely responsible for his professional success.

“Every good thing must come to an end, even though that statement is cliché,” he wrote. Much of my professional accomplishments are due to Efe and his group at Now Muzik.

“The support of countless individuals and organizations who collaborate with me to realize my talent and vision has allowed me to accomplish everything that I have. Muzik is one of these businesses, and for that, I am incredibly appreciative.”
