Police Apprehend 54 Suspected Thugs in Kano

By Reporter 2

The Kano State Police Command apprehended 54 alleged thugs on Wednesday, 10th April 2024, during the Eid-Fitr celebration in Kano. SP Abdullahi Haruna, the command’s Public Relations Officer, made this statement public on Thursday, 11th April 2024.

According to Haruna, the suspects were discovered in possession of illegal drugs and weapons and taken into custody. The suspects will face charges in court after the inquiry is over. He further claims that the State Police Command has discovered thugs’ plans to sabotage the Hawan Daushe Durbar celebration, which will take place on Thursday night at the Emir’s Palace in Kofar Kudu, Kano.

The state’s joint security forces are aware of these wicked plans and have taken all the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of all State residents and the peaceful conduct of Durbar activities. Enough personnel and equipment have been deployed to significant State locations.

As a result, “the Kano State Police Command firmly states that anyone attempting to undermine the tranquility being enjoyed in the State, under any pretense, will be apprehended and subject to the full force of the law. Their backers will eventually become tired of them and do the same.”

“Sallah Durbar is not a political event; any political party emblem shown on billboards or posters serves as a tool for misunderstandings and ultimately undermines law and order.” He advised politicians to persuade their people that Sallah is a time to celebrate togetherness and tradition.
