A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has on Wednesday, 17th April 2024, granted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) warrant to arrest the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, in preparation for his arraignment on Thursday, 18 April 2024. The warrant was granted by Justice Emeka Nwite at the instance of the EFCC.

Recall that a Kogi State High Court in a conflicting ruling had earlier restrained the EFCC from arresting, detaining, or prosecuting the ex-Governor.
