After Visiting Netherlands, Tinubu Arrives in Riyadh

By Reporter 2

To participate in the 2024 Special World Economic Forum (WEF) on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development, President Bola Tinubu arrived in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on Friday evening, 26 April 2024. After his previous commitments this week in The Hague, Netherlands, the President’s arrival initiates the second leg of his two-nation official visits.

The high-profile meeting in Riyadh is scheduled to draw over 1,000 executives from business, government, and academia from over 90 nations, stated Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Presidential spokesman. He clarified that the objective is to build on the accomplishments of the inaugural Growth Summit, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, last year.

Three main subjects are anticipated to be covered at the Riyadh meeting: reviving international cooperation, encouraging inclusive growth, and igniting action on energy for development. The occasion provides a forum for bridging the widening North-South gap that is being made worse by new economic policies, the energy transition, and geopolitical shocks.

According to Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s chief spokesperson, the Nigerian President is anticipated to use the WEF meeting as a platform to pursue discussions about his “Renewed Hope Agenda” for Nigeria.
