By Reporter 2

Judge Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik, the Chief Justice of Niger State, found 31-year-old Hamza Mohammed guilty of two counts of joint act and responsible homicide, thereby sentenced him to death by hanging.

In her verdict, she claimed that the crimes committed by Hamza are punishable by Sections 221 and 79 of the Penal Code. As a result, he has been condemned and found guilty. The prosecutor was able to prove the two counts against him beyond a reasonable doubt, according to the Presiding Judge.

According to Justice Abdulmalik, “The death penalty must be applied in cases of culpable homicide. By this decree, Hamza Mohammed is found guilty and given a death sentence by hanging. May the Lord provide you peace in your soul.”

It was previously reported that Hamza Mohammed took part in a rivalry between the youths of Barikin Saleh and Kpakungu, both in Minna. The outcome of the conflict was the death of Isah Mohammed who was stabbed to death by Baba Usman. When the event happened, Hamza Mohammed was believed to be with Baba Usman, who is presently on the run.
