By Reporter 2
The Kwara State Government has cautioned Head teachers of elementary schools and Junior Secondary School Principals about unlawful charges for the State Placement Exam (Common Entrance).
State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, issued a warning on Tuesday, 14 May 2024, in her Ilorin office, threatening the full force of the law on anyone who disobeys..
She stressed that as the test is entirely funded by the State Government, general admission is free and that the government will not stand for any individual or group of individuals extorting money from students under any pretense.
Hajia Modibbo Kawu encouraged Head teachers and Principals to refrain from any actions that would damage the State Government’s reputation. She also warned them not to encourage examination malpractice, saying that the current administration will not tolerate it.
The Commissioner reminded everyone that her office is available and pleaded with the parents and guardians of the students to report any suspicious behavior by the Principal or Head teacher to her office directly.
