Catholic Priest Kidnapped in Anambra

In the Onitsha Archdiocese of Anambra State, a popular Catholic priest named Rev. Basil Gbuzuo was kidnapped. The kidnappers have not yet requested a ransom for the incident, which took place on the major Nkpor-Obosi route.
Fr. Gbuzuo is renowned for his powerful prayers and miracles in the whole of Anambra State. His prayers and miracles have transformed many lives, from destruction and abject poverty to fulfilment and abundance in all areas of their lives.
In a statement, the chancellor of the Archdiocese of Onitsha, Rev. Fr. Prudentius Aroh, stated that Archbishop Valerian Okeke had requested prayers for Fr. Gbuzuo’s release. “We write to inform the general public of the kidnapping of one of our priests, Rev. Fr. Basil Gbuzuo,” said Fr. Aroh. The tragic occurrence happened on Wednesday morning, May 15, 2024, at approximately eight a.m. along the Eke Nkpor-Obosi bypass.
At Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Ogidi, he serves as a resident priest.” No communication has been made by the kidnappers with anyone thus far. “My Grace, The Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian M. Okeke, extends an invitation to all decent men and women and followers of Christ to fervently pray for the priest’s prompt and safe release while we step up our efforts to secure his freedom.
“We pray for our brother Fr. Basil’s quick release from the clutches of his kidnappers through the mighty intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Priests.”
