2026 WCQ: “Super Eagles must win the next two Games” – Finidi
By Reporter 3
Super Eagles Head Coach, Finidi George has disclosed that the team must do everything within its power to beat South Africa and Benin Republic in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches coming up in June, 2024.
Finidi’s side are winless in Group C with two draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
The Super Eagles need maximum points from both games to secure a place at the 2026 World Cup finals.Finidi further stated that his side can’t afford to loose more points after their poor start.
“Yeah, they (the games) are really important because we know where we stand at the moment. It’s not a good position, to be honest, we should be honest with ourselves,” Finidi told Arise TV.
“Where we are at the moment gives us more pressure, because these games are must-win games. I’m not saying we will win the game but I’m saying they are must-win games because we don’t know what’s going to happen but it all bores down to us as a team because we know what is at hand and then we know we have to get as much as we can in these two games just to go up there.”
