President Tinubu has approved Didi Esther Walson-Jack’s appointment as the Federation’s Civil Service Head, effective August 14, 2024. Walson-Jack was the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education before taking on her new position.

She was also appointed Federal Permanent Secretary in 2017 and has worked in various ministries. Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser, made the announcement in a statement released on Wednesday, 17 July 2024.

The statement was headlined, “President Tinubu Appoints New Head of Civil Service of the Federation.” The new appointee will succeed Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR, the present Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, who is set to retire on August 13, 2024.

“President Tinubu, while thanking the outgoing Head of Service for her stewardship, tasks the incoming Head of Service to discharge her duties with innovative flair, integrity, and stringent adherence to the extant rules and regulations of the Civil Service of the Federation,” the statement added.
