"Heavy Makeup, Braids Not Allowed on RCCG Altar", Says Adeboye
Pastor E. A. Adebayo

Redeemed Christian Church of God General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye has criticized ladies who wear heavy makeup and fake eyelashes, as well as men who have braided their hair. Adeboye made it plain that these kinds of attire would no longer be accepted on RCCG altars, expressing his displeasure with the trend among churches.

During the 72nd annual convention of the church, which concluded on Sunday, he highlighted his disbelief at the increasing usage of these fashion choices among members of the church.

The conference, themed “Heaven,” took place at The Redemption City in Mowe, Ogun State (Lagos-Ibadan Way) from Monday, August 5, to Sunday, August 11, 2024.

“Only the priests of Sango, the god of thunder, braid hair in Yorubaland,” he declared. They claim that since we live in a new era, we must be able to change with the times. to carry on as priests of Sango? Not in this mission. That won’t happen even after I’m gone.”

In addition, Adeboye reportedly stated, “Take this word from me, according to Church Times. We will remove any pastor who appears like a representative of Nollywood from the pulpit if we discover one. This includes female pastors in particular.”

“You may not like it. If you are my children, you cannot kill me,” he said, pleading for forgiveness if he had been too harsh. “Do you know why men, real men, don’t wear makeup? It’s because we have a sense of superiority. We believe that God created us perfectly and that He made no mistakes.”

He went on, “I wonder what you want to accomplish when you start fixing false nails. If God wanted to make you a bird, He would have given you false eyelashes and nails.”

He called on individuals who like looking strange to turn from their ways and become more humble. “You can quote me on this: Tell anyone who asked you why you are making this significant change, ‘Daddy GO said so,” he declared. “Listen all my daughters, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. if someone does not like you for who you are, it’s that person’s loss,” he continued.

“He implored church members to cease altering what God had done. He did an awesome job. You were original when He made you, and you are still unique.” he said. However, 73 babies were delivered at the convention.
