NSCDC and FERMA Strengthen Collaboration to Safeguard Federal Roads in Abia

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, and the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) have strengthened their collaboration to improve security on state-owned Federal roads.
Doreen Udugwu, the Public Relations Officer, Civil Defence, Abia Command, revealed the development in a press statement on Tuesday, 13 August 2024.
According to the announcement, Okafor Festus Obiora, newly posted Federal Roads Maintenance Engineer of FERMA Abia State, met with Usman Alfadarai, the Commandant of the Abia NSCDC, to discuss strengthening the collaboration between the two organizations.
Speaking at the visit, Festus, the head of FERMA, thanked the Commandant for deploying security guards to make sure that no property was vandalized and for the assistance he received from the NSCDC during the End Bad Governance demonstration.
To improve security and safety for government employees, users, and roadways, Okafor approached the NSCDC about partnering with them.
Alfadarai, the commandant of the Abia NSCDC, responded by assuring FERMA of his steadfast dedication to upholding the agency’s mission of preserving the security and integrity of Abia State’s important infrastructure.
