“Let’s Protest to Demand Justice for Mohbad’s Death” – Actor Yomi Fabiyi

Yomi Fabiyi, a popular Nigerian actor and an activist has called for a protest on the first anniversary of the death of singer Mohbad to demand for justice over his death. Fabiyi, made the call in a post on his Instagram page and advised Nigerians to attend the next court session of the coroner’s inquest.

He also suggested that protests should be organised towards the first anniversary of Mohbad’s death to further press for justice if no progress is made in the next sitting.

He wrote: “Let’s storm the court peacefully and attend the next coroner’s inquest and protest to register our demands on this case. If nothing tangible is seen or heard, we focus on the day of the one-year anniversary.”

Recall that Mohbad, who was a former signee of the Marlian record label, died on September 12, 2023, in a mysterious circumstances.

Following the debates generated by his death on social media, the Lagos State Police Command inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe his death. His body was exhumed for an autopsy on September 21, 2023, at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.

The pathologist who carried out the autopsy while appearing before the coroner stated that the test could not ascertain the cause of Mohbad’s death because the body had decomposed.

Reacting to the results, the singer’s family, who was not pleased with the outcome, demanded an independent autopsy.
