NJC Recommends Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as CJN

Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun has been recommended by the National Judicial Council to become the next Chief Justice of Nigeria.
The recommendation was brought up at an unplanned closed-door meeting that was moved from Friday, 16 to Thursday, 15 August 2024 in Abuja.
The NJC also recommended 27 other people to be State High Court judges at the present conference.
Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the outgoing Chief Justice of Nigeria, will retire from the bench on August 22 after reaching the required retirement age of 70.
