Ukrainian Strike Destroy Vital Bridge in Russia
By Reporter 2
In the midst of its operation in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Air Force claimed on Saturday to have damaged a strategically significant road bridge in Russia.
Experts believe that a video that Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk posted on a Telegram channel depicting a bridge in Russia being bombed is most likely authentic. The bridge over the Seim River in the Glushkovo neighborhood was shown in the video to be in ruins, cutting off a vital supply line for Russian forces. Russia has earlier reported that the bridge was destroyed.
Since the invasion began on August 6, it had been under constant bombardment by Ukrainian forces for several days. The Air Force is actively taking part in the combat operations of the Ukrainian military in the Kursk region, Oleshchuk reported.
According to the commander, “Ukrainian pilots carry out precision strikes against enemy strongholds, against equipment gatherings, and against the enemy’s logistics centers and supply routes. Thanks to the pilots and everyone who supports the Air Force’s fight.” Oleshchuk continued.
Russia has been launching a full-scale assault since February 2022, and it coincides with Ukraine’s historic land offensive in the Kursk area. After the invasion began on August 6, it had been under constant bombardment by Ukrainian forces for several days.
Ukraine’s unprecedented ground offensive in the Kursk area comes amid Russia’s ongoing full-scale invasion, which was launched in February 2022.
On Friday, Alexey Smirnov, the Governor of Kursk, announced that the bridge had been destroyed. Russian military bloggers said on Telegram that the bridge was hit by a glide bomb after being first shelled by American-made rockets. Additionally, they claimed that earlier during the bombardment, two volunteers in a car had died while attempting to evacuate civilians.
Speaking on behalf of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova criticized Ukraine for destroying civilian infrastructure in the Kursk region with Western weapons. She promised that anyone accountable for “this inhumane conduct” would face consequences.
