Kogi: “Present yourself for Arraignment” – Appeal Court to Yahaya Bello
By Reporter 3
The immediate past Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has been asked to present himself for arraignment over a case with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The order was given by the Court of Appeal on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.
The Court also restrained Bello from taking further steps in the charge unless he is arraigned. The court further upturned the judgment delivered by the Kogi State High Court.
The former Governor has not been seen in public since the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, attempted to arrest him during a raid from his residence in Abuja, a few months ago.
Governor Usman Ododo had prevented EFCC operatives from arresting Bello in his residence in Abuja.
EFCC is currently prosecuting Bello for alleged misappropriation of over N80 billion while he was a governor for eight years.
