It was learned that the incident did not result in any loss of life. The attack has been verified by police, even though details are still unknown at the time this report was filed.
According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Public Relations Officer for the State Police, “The attack occurred on Ogbaru LGA in the early hours of today, August 30, 2024.”
“Although several LGA properties and buildings were damaged, security personnel valiantly repelled the attackers, and no lives were lost. He said that a coordinated security operation was in progress nearby.
This would not be the first time that gunmen have attacked the Ogbaru Local Government Headquarters. During an earlier attack, the secretariat’s cars and buildings were set on fire. Fingers have always pointed at secessionist elements, while it is unclear who is behind the attacks.
