Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang the Plateau State Governor, has announced the dissolution of the 17 Local Government Transition Implementation Committee Chairmen with effect from September 6, 2024.
This was revealed by the Governor in a statement released on Friday evening September 6, 2024. On June 9, 2023, the committees were established with a six-month duration in mind. However, their terms were extended multiple times until Friday night.
In a statement issued by Dr. Gyang Bere, his Director of Press and Public Affairs, the Governor instructed the Directors of Personnel Management in each of the 17 Local Government areas to take over as the local government’s administrative head until elections are held on October 9, 2024, to fill the positions.
The statement reads, “Governor Mutfwang expressed his gratitude to the Chairmen of the Transition Committee for their outstanding leadership and commitment to implementing community-impacting development projects.
“He conveyed gratitude for their achievements and encouraged them to keep providing insightful advice to advance harmony and peace within the Plateau State and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
The past chairmen were also urged by Governor Mutfwang to work with their people to guarantee the party’s victory in the next local government elections. He further advised the past Chairmen to work with their constituents, to guarantee the party’s victory in the upcoming Local Government elections.
He commended the people of the State for their unwavering support on the results of the PDP primaries for the chairmanship and councilorship elections, which shows the strong bond the people of Plateau State have with the party.
The Governor restated his dedication to governing the Plateau in a way that is inclusive, accountable, and transparent to meet the needs of the people.
