The Nigerian gospel musician Dele Agbeyo, better known as Dele Gold, has passed away.

Alayo Melody, a fellow gospel musician, confirmed his death on social media on Wednesday, 11 September 2024.

Melody posted on Instagram, expressing shock and grief, writing, “Dele Gold died kee??” This is becoming too much ooo! May God help us stop this premature death. Dele Agbeyo, “May your soul rest well.”

Another gospel artist, Wonder Doyin Kujore, also shared his grief on Instagram.

“Nothing in this world… let us live today and leave tomorrow for God. It saddens my heart to post about those who die prematurely, but I have to pay my last respects. Rest in peace Dele Agbotikuyo,” he wrote.

Dele Gold made waves in the Nigerian gospel music market in 2019 when he teamed up with Juju music icon Ebenezer Obey on one of his albums.

In April, he recently celebrated his birthday and gave thought to what he called “rare blessings and favor.” His passing comes after the August cervical cancer death of another gospel artist, Aduke Ajayi, popularly known as Aduke Gold. He was buried in Lagos on August 23,

With the loss of two of its voices in quick succession, the Nigerian gospel community is grieving the demise of Dele Gold.
