The Katsina Sector Command’s new Sector Commander, CC Aliyu Maaji of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has cautioned the command’s officers against extorting drivers.
The warning was issued by Maaji, who took office in Katsina on Tuesday, 8 October 2024. He stated that bribery and corruption would not be accepted and that any FRSC officer found to be in violation would be let off.
He went on to exhort the staff to support the Corps Marshall’s policy initiative by doing everything in their power to improve the corp’s reputation. To raise awareness and foster cooperation throughout the state, he said that preparations were being made to launch a monthly stakeholders’ meeting.
The press representatives who were present to meet him, as well as the state government, received gratitude from the sector commander. In addition to urging the personnel to double their dedication to their jobs, he pledged to work toward maintaining road safety and safe driving throughout the state.
In addition, Maaji urged drivers and other stakeholders to keep supporting the commission so that it can effectively carry out its mandate of lowering traffic and road accident rates.
