In light of the ongoing economic reforms implemented by President Bola Tinubu’s government, the Presidency has urged Nigerians to exercise patience.
Delu Bulus-Yakubu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, made the statement on Thursday, 17 October 2024, during a speech in honor of the 2024 International Poverty Eradication Day in Abuja.
The theme of the event was “Acting Together for Peaceful, Inclusive Society: Ending Social and Institutional Maltreatment.”
The Presidential Adviser clarified that Nigerians needed to be understanding as the current administration was making great efforts in light of the economic reforms to improve the country’s economic hardship.
“I would like to take this opportunity to beg Nigerians that despite the current economic situation, the hardship can be overcome gradually. Please, let’s remain composed, be understanding, and back the administration’s rekindled optimism that we can advance our nation.”
“I wish to reassure Nigerians that the current administration is diligently working and implementing numerous policies to mitigate the hardships faced by our beloved nation,” the speaker remarked. She made a plea to the people of Nigeria to help the administration fulfill its duty.
