The General Overseer and Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has reacted to Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar’s public apologies for her disparaging remarks by stating that forgiveness is not the same as memory loss.

Suleman posted a succinct comment on X.com on Wednesday, saying, “You all stop calling my phone.” Forgiveness does not mean memory loss! “Status quo maintained!” The statement was released following Abubakar’s public apology to Suleman for her disparaging statements about him.

Abubakar said that her previous remarks were “false and hurtful” in a message posted on her Instagram account. The actress begged Apostle Suleman and his family for forgiveness, expressing sorry for the suffering she caused with the accusations.

She said that her acts were the result of bad judgment at the time, and that “deep reflection and conscience” were the driving forces for the apology. In 2022, Abubakar claimed on social media that she was romantically involved with Suleman, which led to the cleric threatening to take legal action against her for making “defamatory remarks.”

The uproar grew even further when the actress revealed in 2023 that she had been pregnant three times with Suleman’s child; in April 2024, a Federal Capital Territory High Court ruled that Abubakar pay N10 million in damages for publishing disparaging remarks about Apostle Suleman. Additionally, the court prohibited her from writing any more disparaging remarks about the cleric.

Additionally, Abubakar was ordered by the judge to retract her defamatory remarks on her Instagram account, #Halimabubakar.
