Nentawe Elected as APC Chairman

Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda has been elected as the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was made known by Daily Trust on July 24, 2025.
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma moved the motion for his nomination. Meanwhile, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, seconded the motion.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation was immediately sworn to take charge of the party.
Daily Trust reported how Nentawe was the top pick for the position.
Nentawe hails from Plateau State in the North Central. The region was originally zoned to produce the national chairman before the appointment of the former Governor.
The need for a new chairman followed Ganduje’s resignation. Which came in the middle of internal protests, particularly from North Central stakeholders.
They felt short-changed after the sudden resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu. Following the 2023 general election that produced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu
