Tinubu Empathizes With Victims of Flood and Boat Mishap

President Tinubu has given empathises to the families and communities affected by the flood disaster in Yola, Adamawa State. And the victims of the boat mishap in Guni village, Niger State.
This was disclosed by Daily Trust on July 28, 2025.
Tinubu also called on NEMA to urgently undertake a full rescue and relief effort to reduce burdens on those affected.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga said in a statement,
“President Tinubu mourns the lives lost and commends the bravery of Adamawa and Niger States’ Emergency Management Agencies, local divers, volunteers, and community leaders assisting in search and recovery efforts.”
President Tinubu appealed to citizens to avoid activities that may lead to flooding. Although flooding is a global phenomenon caused by climate change.
The President expressed regret over the incessant insecurity. Despite enlightenment efforts by the Federal Ministry of Environment, the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, and the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).
He however, called on opinion leaders and concerned authorities to continue their advocacy on safety on the waterways.y
President Tinubu also encouraged citizens and entrepreneurs using the waterways as a means of livelihood to ensure strict adherence to safety measures.
