Following Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun’s directives, the Ebonyi State Police Command established a Complaint Response Unit (CRU).

This is in line with a statement made on Friday, 16 February 2024, in Abakaliki by DSP Joshua Ukandu, the command’s spokesman.

According to him, the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) was a division of the Nigeria Police Force that had been transferred to State Commands to improve accountability, openness, and the speed at which the public could file complaints against the Police.

According to Ukandu, the unit would serve as a focal point for the receipt and resolution of public complaints against Police Officers within the command.

“We are working to provide a more efficient and user-friendly procedure for managing grievances against Law Enforcement Officials, guaranteeing that the rights and dignity of every person are upheld,” the Police spokesperson continued.

He claims that the command, led by Commissioner of Police Augustina Ogbodo, is dedicated to moral behavior and professionalism.

“The establishment of the CRU reaffirms our dedication to fostering confidence and trust among the people we serve.”

“We kindly request that the public contact the CRU to report any concerns or complaints they may have against Police Officers under their command. We can guarantee a better and more responsible Police Force for all if we band together.”

Ukandu continued, “For additional information or to make a complaint, please call the PPRO at 08032716251 or the Ebonyi State Police Command CRU desk officer at 08067577537.”
