The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has directed all its affiliates to mobilize their members for a nationwide two-day protest on 27th and 28th February 2024, to demonstrate outrage at the mounting hardship and insecurity around the nation.

This was contained in a statement signed by the General Secretary of the Labour Union, Comrade Ismail Bello on 19th February 2024, and made available to newsmen.

The statement reads in part: ” In furtherance to the decision of the National Executive Council (NEC), of NLC, held on Friday 16th February 2024, all workers in Nigeria are hereby directed to prepare for a nationwide two-day protest on 27th and 28th February 2024, to demonstrate outrage on the mounting hardship and insecurity around the nation.”

” Consequently, all affiliates are directed to mobilize their members nationwide for this action. We specifically request affiliates to urge their State Councils to ensure effective mobilization at the State level,” the statement added.
