Mohbad’s Father Disowns Legal Advisors
By Reporter 2
The late singer Mohbad‘s father, Joseph Aloba, has broken ties with those posing as his legal advisors and showing up in court against his will.
Aloba revealed this in a statement published online on Tuesday, 5th March 2024, stating that he only gave his family’s legal team permission to represent him.
The disclaimer became required after someone presented themselves on social media and portrayed themselves as legal representation for Mohbad’s father, according to a statement signed by Monisola Odumosu, a member of the legal team.
According to Aloba, who was cited by Odumosu, anyone or any party wishing to take any action regarding Mohbad’s case needs to get the permission and approval of his legal team.
“Our attention has been drawn to a certain individual on the social media platform, particularly TikTok, who claims to be working for a group on behalf of our client, Mr. Joseph Aloba,” explained the statement.
“Our client has given instructions that he has not hired any other parties, including a law firm or an NGO, to represent him in court or anywhere else regarding the matters to obtain justice for the passing of his late son, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad).” His current legal team has been duly briefed on all issues about obtaining justice on behalf of his late son.
“Mr. Aloba stated that anybody or any party wishing to pursue any kind of action regarding the Mohbad matter needs to get the permission and approval of his legal advisors, who he claimed have been doing the legal work with diligence and to his satisfaction. No person or organization has been granted permission by Mr. Joseph Aloba to represent him.”
According to the statement, the family of the dead was aware of what it called devious attempts to thwart Mohbad’s legal proceedings.
The legal team also mentioned how important it was to ensure that the foundation of justice being constructed for the case was not destroyed by spoilers.
It continued, “We kindly ask the public to disregard any individual or organization claiming to be speaking for Mr. Joseph.”
