Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa, a former Special Advisor on Technical Education to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, has passed away. According to reports, he died in an auto crash on Tuesday, 2nd April 2024, while traveling to Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State, where he was a lecturer.

“When Governor Abiodun was serving his first term in office, the deceased was a professor with expertise in 19 different professions”.

To better equip himself with the necessary abilities, Joseph Odemuyuwa, in addition to his academic qualifications, learned other professions from craftsmen and informal vocational centers. He was the President of the Workplace Educators and Managers Association of Nigeria (WEMAN).

“Meanwhile, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, expressed his condolences through a message, mentioning that the professor’s sudden demise was a huge loss to the government and the educational community.

He claimed that during his first term in office, his administration greatly succeeded in Vocational and Technical Education because the former Special Adviser was a cooperative team player. “We will always remember and honor Prof. Odemuyiwa’s legacy as an advocate and educator.”

He was well-liked and greatly impacted our administration’s vocational and technical education performance. The Governor said, “Please accept my sincere sympathy during this trying time. May his soul rest in peace.”
