According to the report, hoodlums battled in the Ile-Epo area, causing numerous injuries. Rumour had it that a fight broke out in the neighbourhood market on Wednesday evening, 1st May 2024, and went on till early Thursday, 2nd May 2024. While some items were destroyed, other stores were set on fire.
The Police, under the command of Divisional Police Officer Oke-Odo area, on the other hand, reported that they had responded to complaints of disturbances in Ile-Epo on Thursday afternoon. The statement claims that CP Adegoke Fayoade, Commissioner of Police, moved quickly to order the swift prosecution of the hoodlums who had been apprehended. He also warned that the Command would decisively deal with anyone breaching the peace, under the law. However, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations), Area Commander Alagbado, alongside other Divisional Police Officers under the Area Command, remained on the ground to prevent any breakdown of law in the area.
