The Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed the death of a middle-aged woman in a hotel in the city. The woman was brutally murdered in the hotel where she was believed to have gone with her alleged murderer.

ASP Ahmed Rufai, the State Police Public Relations Officer, verified the occurrence to our correspondent over the phone, stating that the victim was discovered dead with a cut neck in the hotel room’s bathroom. He stated that the Police had launched an investigation and had obtained valuable evidence from documents left in the suspect’s hotel room.

“We have started an investigation into the incident after gathering some relevant information from documents left in the room by the alleged killer and his details at reception. “We will update the press on our investigation as it goes on but for now, we are on it,” he said.
According to sources close to the dead, the victim is a divorced mother of four who only visited the hotel on rare occasions.
