Ogun: Landlord Slumps, Dies after Tenant Threatened to Kill Him

Tragedy struck as a landlord identified as Apeh Benjamin reportedly slumped and died after a heated argument with his tenant in Aribabu village, Sotubo, Ogun State.

DAILY POST reports that the landlord had demanded his house rent from the tenant which resulted in a heated argument between the two. The tenant, simply identified as Emmanuel, had in the process, threatened to kill the landlord.

The Ogun State Police Command on Monday, 3 June 2024, said the landlord slumped and died at about 6:30 am on Sunday, 2 June 2024.

Omolola Odutola, the Command’s Spokesman, stated that investigations were on to unravel the actual cause of the death.

“One Apeh Benjamin a landlord in Aribabu village, Sotubo area of Ogun State slumped, and died at about 06:30hrs on 2nd of June, over a heated argument with one Emmanuel his tenant who threatened to kill his landlord, over indebted rent. Investigation is on,” she said.
