Sallah – Osun Amotekun Guarantees Utmost Security

By Reporter 2

Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, rtd, Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, promised residents the highest level of protection for their lives and property during and after the 2024 Eid-eil-Adha celebration. Adewinmbi, who announced this in a statement sent to journalists in Osogbo on Thursday, June 13, 2024, also stated that, there’s no cause for concern because security personnel were on red alert in all of the State’s Local Governments to ensure a smooth celebration.

He also warned Amotekun personnel to follow existing rules of engagement and avoid acts of unprofessionalism during the celebration. “As directed by His Excellency, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for hitch-free Sallah celebration in the state, I have directed Area Commanders, Local Government Commanders, and Operational Units of the command to deploy all operational and intelligence assets at their disposal to effectively protect their areas of responsibilities and ensure smooth celebrations during and after Eid-el-Adha festivities.

“There is no cause for concern because corps operatives were on red alert in all Local Governments around the State for a smooth Sallah celebration. I have also advised commanders and operational personnel to ensure that people under them comply with the Osun Amotekun Corp’s existing rules of engagement and protect against acts of unprofessionalism because they would be held vicariously liable for any mistakes.

“I entreat all and sundry to celebrate responsibly and peacefully as well as call on Muslims Ummah to use the period to pray for the peace and progress of Osun State and Nigeria at large,” Adewinmbi added.
