University of Port Harcourt Mark 50 years Cultural Heritage

Uniport Marks 50 Years Of Cultural Heritage With Colorful Festival.

The Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Port Harcourt officially opened the cultural day. It is a celebration to mark the institution’s 50th anniversary on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

This was made known by UCJ, Uniport.
The event, led by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Clever Gbenador, featured vibrant cultural displays by students and staff.

It showcased the diversity and unity of the university community.

Speaking at the event, Amara, a participant, said, “This celebration is a beautiful expression of the rich cultural diversity within Uniport.”

Similarly, Peter, a student of the faculty, noted that “the festival reflects 50 years of cultural heritage and tolerance that the University has nurtured.”

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Owunari Georgewill, commended the Faculty for the event. He described it as a powerful display of solidarity and pride in the institution’s legacy.
