EFCC arrests 32 suspected fraudsters in Bauchi

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 32 Suspected fraudsters in Bauchi.

This was revealed in a statement posted on the commission’s official Facebook page on Monday.
According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended in a coordinated operation by operatives of the Gombe Zonal Directorate.
On Friday, July 25, 2025, 32 suspected internet fraudsters were arrested by the Operatives of the Gombe Zonal Directorate EFCC.
The EFCC noted that the arrests were carried out in Sabon Kaura and Gwalameji. This was after credible intelligence linked the suspects to ongoing cybercrime activities.
“They were arrested in Sabon Kaura and Gwalameji areas of Bauchi, Bauchi State capital, following credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities,” the Commission stated.
Significant number of electronic gadgets and other items allegedly used in perpetrating the crimes was recovered.
Items recovered include several mobile phones—among them 15 iPhones, 9 Samsung devices, 3 Redmi phones, and 1 Infinix—as well as 2 iPads and 8 laptop computers. Operatives also seized 4 Neonx Auto motorbikes, a Peugeot 406 car, 2 PlayStation 4 consoles, a PlayStation 5, a Maxi E50KWH generator, and a pistol.
The EFCC said the suspects will be prosecuted in court once investigations are concluded.
