His resignation was contained in a letter titled “Notice of Voluntary Resignation”, dated July 29, 2025, and directed to the Secretary to the State Government. The letter, obtained by Daily Trust, reads in part:
“With reference to letter number GH/KD/S/171 dated 27th July 2023, appointing me as Commissioner and Member of the Kaduna State Executive Council, I wish to notify you of my decision to willingly resign with immediate result.
Professor Bello also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve under Governor Uba Sani’s administration. First as Commissioner for Education. Later as the pioneer Commissioner of Information.
Following the resignation, Governor Uba Sani appointed Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki as the new Commissioner of Information.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Ibraheem Musa, confirmed Maiyaki’s appointment.
Until his promotion, he was the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).
Maiyaki’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the administration’s communication efforts as it advances the Renewed Hope Agenda in Kaduna State.
