UNIPORT Senate Elects New Deputy Vice Chancellors

The Senate of the University of Port Harcourt has elected three new Deputy Vice Chancellors. They were appointed to assist the Vice Chancellor in the administration of the University.
The election occurred during the 488th Senate Meeting held at the CBN Centre of Excellence Auditorium on August 6, 2025.
The current Deputy Vice Chancellors’ terms are ending, prompting the election of new officers to maintain leadership and effective governance.
After a free and transparent voting process, the Senate elected the following individuals to serve as Deputy Vice Chancellors:
Professor Chukwudi Onyeaso was elected Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration. Professor Rosemary Ogu won the post for Academics, while Professor Angela Frank-Briggs secured the Research and Development position. Vice Chancellor Professor Owunari Georgewill congratulated them and urged continued diligence and commitment to the University’s growth.
He also commended the outgoing Deputy Vice Chancellors for their excellent service and contributions during their tenure.
The newly elected Deputy Vice Chancellors are expected to bring fresh perspectives and continue the drive toward academic excellence. .
