Nnamdi Kanu’s lead counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, has alleged that the Department of State Services (DSS), on Friday, 1 November 2024, prevented Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), from his legal team. This was made known by Ejimakor via a post on X.
Ejimakor disclosed that DSS’s latest action was in continued disobedience to a court ruling ordering Kanu access to his legal team.
He said he would continue with all suspended legal processes with much vigor following the latest action.
Ejimakor wrote: “Today, in a blatant & continuing disobedience of extant court order, the DSS barred the Legal Team of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from conducting a visitation with him.
“For this reason, all suspended legal actions to enforce compliance will proceed apace and with much vigor.”
Recall in October 2024, the DSS had denied Kanu access to his lawyers. Kanu has been locked up by the DSS since he was rearrested in 2021.
Following this action, the Abuja Federal High Court threatened to jail DSS Director General, Adeola Ajayi for contempt.
