PDP Chieftain Bwala: I Support Tinubu without Apology
By Reporter 2
Daniel Bwala, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party opposition, declared on Wednesday, 10th January 2024 that he was determined to support President Bola Tinubu’s government, even if it meant leaving to join the All Progressives Congress.
Following their private discussions behind closed doors at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, Bwala told State House media, “I told him today I am committing to play my part to support your administration, and I have no apologies to anybody.”
When asked if he would join the APC, he replied, “The APC is a political party. President Bola Tinubu is my motivation; if supporting him will take me to APC, so be it.”
Bwala, a fervent opponent of the Tinubu government and the ruling party, APC declared on January 2, 2024, that solid cooperation amongst opposition political parties is necessary for them to unseat the APC in the general elections of 2027.
Speaking as a guest on Politics Today on Channels Television, Bwala predicted that President Tinubu will serve eight years in government in the absence of an opposition party alliance.
Tinubu will spend the next eight years without a political party coalition. “The fact of the matter is that a powerful coalition of political parties will exist.” I am aware of this fact.
He declared, “The coalition that is coming will swallow some elements that are creating problems in the various political parties.”

Saying, “Some of his (Tinubu’s) Ministers that were allegedly reported to have committed infractions, instead of protecting them, he asked that the law should have its course and suspended somebody without wasting time,” he praised the President’s decision to suspend Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. That is amazing, since it centers on the people.
“There has been this outcry that the government is bloated,” Bwala said, alluding to Tuesday’s announcement of a 60% reduction in travel entourages for the presidency and MDAs. He informed me today that “this is just the beginning” after introducing a policy yesterday that decreased the cost of the government.
The Attorney said that further cost-cutting initiatives are being implemented to lower the expense of government, as the President had promised.
“As citizens, we have been discussing that if you don’t have a personal grudge against someone, then it should be a matter of policy.”
Apart from today’s discussion, I want to urge everyone to check out my Twitter feed.
“I have no regrets to anyone, and I told him today that I am committing to do my part to support your administration,” he said.
